I’m expecting the tax on alcohol to be abolished and Amsterdam coffee shops to open everywhere soon….and 5 free eccies with your Giro.
Wee man – you get my vote!
Glasgow city of grunts
May 14, 2007
After coming back from holidays, I just couldn’t believe how grunty and impolite people here are.
After the muslim/ethnic experience through Heathrow airport, we would met by grunty Scots at the other end. And the taxi we got home just stank, unlike all the other taxis we’d been in Australia/Asia. The taxi driver spoke to use but didn’t ask the obvious question - where have you been on holiday!!!
Needless to say he didn’t get a tip – no doubt he thinks I’m a tight arse but the truth is….he’s got a stinking taxi that made me sick. No leg room either. Just a joke.
24C in April?
April 11, 2007
24C in April is the forecast for Britain, will it hit Glasgow? I predict about 14C, we’re normally 10C off the Angleterres at best.
It’s true the Scottish weather isn’t great, but forget that the Glasgow weather is cloudy, grey and sad at the best of times. Hoping for sunshine this weekend, vitamin D deficency is the root of all evil….
The gritty city…
April 4, 2007

The gritty city indeed, Glasgow definitely has it’s own style (and it’s own blog now).
Land of the grit, it’s hard reputation continues today.
The city centre is now a tribute to a retail orgy with only the West End remaining unscathed.
And so this blog continues, on the finer points of Glasgow living…..multi-culture integration at it’s purest.
